The rain had been falling since morning.
By the time Emma reached the old railway station, the streets were almost empty. She pulled her coat closer and looked at the clock above the entrance. 7:45 PM.
She was early.
Or perhaps, after all these years, she was simply afraid of being late.
In her hand was a small envelope. The paper had turned yellow with age, and her name was written across the front in handwriting she hadn't seen since she was seventeen.
Emma.
Just one word.
But it was enough to bring back everything she had tried to forget.
She stood beneath the flickering station light and looked down the empty platform. Somewhere in the distance, a train whistle broke through the sound of the rain.
The train was coming.
And with it, perhaps, the answer to a question she had carried for twelve years.
She opened the envelope.
Then she stopped.
There was only one sentence inside.
"If you're reading this, it means I never made it home."
Emma's hands began to shake.
Want to know what happens next?
The letter holds a secret that could change everything Emma thought she knew about her past.
